McCreary Ski & Outdoor Club with the Dead Ox Trailblazers takes part in fifth annual RBC Sports Day in Canada
McCreary, Manitoba Saturday November 29th – To mark this year’s RBC Sports Day in Canada, a national celebration of sport, McCreary Ski & Outdoor Club is hosting a “Try XC Skiing or Snowshoeing Day and Winter Biking Demo” on November 29th at 1:30 pm at McCreary Golf & Country Club.
“Our club is thrilled to be part of RBC Sports Day in Canada” says Pam Little club secretary. “The communities on the east side of RMNP have a long tradition of supporting its local teams and clubs. Sport is great for our communities and is something we can all get behind.
”McCreary’s Sport Day in Canada is open to everyone and all activities are free. We will be featuring Winter Mountain biking demos by local aficionados, fun team games on foot, skis and snowshoes with folks to help you get started. We have some neat prizes that have been donated by local and provincial businesses such as MEC Gift Cards. Come out to enjoy the day. We provide the equipment, some pointers on how to get started cross country skiing and snowshoeing plus refreshments.
Our club AGM, Pot Luck Dinner and special presentation “Mountain Biking: the economics & fun” by Reade Tereck & Dennis Buhler will all take place after 4:30 if you care to join us.
Sport Day in Canada is about encouraging all ages to participate in sport. Our club believes that Cross Country Skiing and snowshoeing are two sports that are easy to learn, suitable for all ages, and get you out in nature and active during our long winters. XC skiing is also one of the best activities for your heart.
McCreary Ski & Outdoor Club runs several outdoor programs in spring, summer and fall from cycling, walking, hiking, and paddling. In winter 2014-15 the club is offering Bunnyrabbit, Jackrabbit and Track attack XC ski programs for children and youth. We offer a racing program for kids and lessons for adults.

RBC Sports Day in Canada caps off a week of more than 1,800 local events and activities, such as community-wide festivals, try-it days, open houses, games, competitions, meet-and-greets, tournaments, fun runs, spectator events and pep rallies, and concludes with a special broadcast on CBC Television on November 29.
“Children need every opportunity to develop the confidence and skills they need to enable them to play and also recognizing there are lifelong lessons gained through sport,” said Jane Broderick, Chief Brand and Communications Officer, RBC. “RBC Sports Day in Canada is part of our larger commitment to kids and youth through the RBC Believe in Kids Pledge, a five-year, $100 million promise to help one million kids with a wide range of programs.”

About McCreary Ski & Outdoor Club
- The aim of the McCreary Ski & Outdoor Club is to enjoy, encourage and promote skiing and other outdoor pursuits that use self-propelled means with minimal environmental impact.
- The Ski Club members are people of all ages with varying levels of experience who wish to enjoy outdoor life throughout the seasons and share our enjoyment of the outdoors. Through activities such as but not limited to skiing, snowshoeing, paddling, running, walking and hiking members can enjoy nature, meet new friends, learn or teach safety and survival skills, and learn new skills.
