Safe Sport
What is Safe Sport?
Safe Sport is an environment where individuals have a healthy, supportive, and positive sport experience, free from all forms of harassment and abuse, collectively known as maltreatment. CCSAM is committed to fostering and protecting a culture that respects and welcomes all individuals and ensures safe sport principles and policies can thrive in all our clubs and programs.

Report a Non-Maltreatment Complaint
Please review the Safe Sport Policy manual with specific attention to the Discipline and Complaint Policy.
Non Maltreatment written complaints may be submitted to the Executive Director (info@ccsam.ca). However, it is strongly recommended that all complaints be directed thru ITP Sport. They will triage the complaint and determine if it is Maltreatment or Non Maltreatment. If the complaint is deemed Non-Maltreatment the complaint will be referred back to CCSAM and will be dealt with via the process laid out in the Discipline and Complaint Policy.
Protecting Youth in Sports Act
The Protecting Youth in Sports Act enhances protection measures for young athletes in Manitoba’s sport system. All Provincial Sport Organizations (PSOs) must adhere to the following requirements:
- Adopt the policies outlined in the Safe Sport Policy Manual.
- Make safe sport information available to parents and young athletes.
- Ensure coaches complete required screening and training.
- Ensure all participants have access to report allegations of maltreatment to an Independent Third Party (ITP).
- Refer any allegations of maltreatment to the ITP if our organization receives such complaints.
- Enforce any disciplinary action determined by the ITP.
