Did you know?

The City of Winnipeg recently announced it has allotted $200,000 in this year’s budget to fund a master plan for the renewal of Kilcona Park and Harbourview Recreation Complex. The plan will identify short and long term strategies for the park for the next 10 to 20 years.
The Kilcona Park/Harbourview Recreation Complex Strategic Renewal and Action Plan will provide an opportunity to examine current programming and use on this site and identify programming and facility requirements for the next two decades.

To that end, a Stakeholder Group has been developed with representation from park user groups, immediate neighbours and businesses, residents’ associations, nearby churches and community centres, interest groups, recreation organizations (hello cross country skiers), regional health authorities and elected officials. The stakeholders will contribute to interviews and workshops on behalf of their constituents.

Two stakeholder workshops have already held – February 2nd, 2013 & March 16, 2013.
