New Grooming Equipment for Grand Beach Provincial Park

News February 5, 2026

Skiers will be happy to know Grand Beach Provincial Park has finally received its new ski trail grooming equipment.

Over the past three years the park purchased a new tractor, then tracks, and this year a Mueller Snow Tiller groomer. It was all assembled in early January and is already making a difference on trails! Reports are that the trails are in better shape now than they have been for several years.

In addition to this new equipment, staff at the park have put in many hours over the past two years levelling the trails where there had been erosion and damage by ATVs. They have also removed some of the large rocks that could be hard on skis and on grooming equipment! This work will contribute to improving all the trails and the skate trail in particular.

CCSAM extends a big thank you to the staff at Grand Beach Provincial Park and Manitoba Parks for their perseverance in securing the funding for this much needed equipment and for their work on the trails.

The CCSAM Recreational Skiing Committee meets regularly with Manitoba Parks staff and has emphasized the importance of the Grand Beach trails to the skiing population in Manitoba. The size of the trail network and the terrain make it a very desirable place to ski and one of very few spots that could host a major ski race. Our continuing collaboration will hopefully make Grand Beach the ski destination of choice for many Manitobans.

With good snow cover this year and improved grooming, now is the time to head out to Grand Beach and enjoy some of the best skiing in Manitoba.
