Community Coaching Workshops in Steinbach
Community Coaching workshop weekend now scheduled in Steinbach, MB January 11 – 12, 2014.
Community Coaching workshops are designed to teach parents and other beginning coaches how to deliver a series of age-appropriate skill development sessions.
There are two workshops in the Community Coaching context:
- Intro to Community Coaching (ICC)
- Community Coaching (CC)
The ICC workshop will cover basic coaching skills, how to teach the fundamentals of technique, growth and development considerations, how to create a motivating learning environment and how to set up a ski playground. The CC workshop will train coaches on how to teach children intermediate technical skills with an emphasis on how to make learning FUN, to select games that reinforce the technical skill being taught, to design and lead on-snow sessions, and how to select and prepare equipment for young children.
There are no prerequisites except enthusiasm and the minimum age requirement of 14 years of age (certification deferred until 16 years of age).
