Wednesday Night Race Series
Description
The Wednesday Night Race Series, hosted by Red River Nordic & Biathlon Club, has been a staple event for the x-country community in Winnipeg for years. This racing series is the longest running multi-race ski series in Canada. The Series provides a fun, non-intimidating competition environment each week at Windsor Park Nordic Centre and is intended to excite youth athletes about racing, to maintain race readiness for more senior athletes, and to provide a casual event for all skiers to enjoy.
We encourage all cross-country skiers, young and old, to come out and enjoy the trails with us.
Location
The Wednesday Night Race Series takes place at Windsor Park Nordic Centre.
Registration
Each competition costs $5.00 plus online admin fee, registration for each race is made available on Zone4. Discounted season registration is available on Zone4 at the start of the season for athletes wanting to register for multiple races at once and save on weekly admin fees. Signing up for all races at once will save a participant over 50% of the cost of individual weekly registration.
In order to minimize large gatherings, the race meeting will not occur onsite. An email will be sent to all registered participants for that race on Tuesday evening with a map of the course. Start lists will be posted at the entrance to Windsor Park Nordic Centre as well as on Zone 4 one hour prior to start.
The race will begin at 7 PM.
It is the athletes’ responsibility to ensure they have picked up their assigned bib and chip in time for their start.
