BTNC Distance Challenge Update

Club News March 14, 2014

The warm temperatures this week have started the spring melt but we still have lots of snow at Burwalde Trails and are looking forward to a great Distance Challenge this weekend. Cooler temperatures today will allow us to prepare the trails for what should be excellent skiing conditions on Saturday.

If you have not already done so review the event schedule at btncski.wordpress.com The official early start is 8pm Friday evening. You are welcome to take advantage of a full moon weekend by joining the 24-hour distance keeners for a bit of evening skiing ahead of the main Saturday event. The club will be providing refreshments during the day on Saturday but evening and night skiers must provide their own.

Things to note:

  • All skiers are welcome and free to ski as much or little as they wish
  • Ski Rentals will still be available
  • Bring a water bottle or mug to save on disposables
  • Ski Cabin will be open and heated throughout the day
  • Costumes are a fun part of the event; wear one
  • Burwalde Trails will be closed on Friday, March 24th until 8pm
  • Only skiers who register will be allowed on the trails during the event (registration is free and painless)
