Two GOLD medals today for Manitoba skiers in Haywood NorAm

What an epic weekend of racing for our young Manitoba skiers at the Ontario Cup #1 in Thunder Bay.

Levi Nadersmith (Downtown Nordic), a 2nd year Midget skier racing in the Juvenile category, earned the gold medal in today’s 5K free technique race at Lappe Nordic Ski Centre. Conor McGovern (Red River Nordic, Midget Boy) raced to gold in his 5K race as well! That’s four medals between these two who both earned the bronze in earlier races this weekend.

And that caps off what must be a record breaking weekend of results for Manitoba skiers – add Sean Carter’s silver medal from Friday’s classic race and that is five podium finishes along with several very respectable top half finishes for Maya Boivin (Kenora Nordic, Junior Girl), Ben Dearing (Whiteshell, Junior Boy), Lisle Compton (Kenora Nordic, Juvenile Girl), Elora Adamson (Red River Nordic, Juvenile Girl), Paetra Adamson (Red River Nordic, Midget Girl) and Cam Roe (Red River Nordic, Midget Boy).

Rest up kids – the Provincial Sprint Championships are a mere 7 days away!
