Manitoba is rich with countless remarkable sport people of all ages with amazing stories of success, service and dedication. We have young individual athletes and teams garnering national and international attention for their athletic abilities, volunteers of all ages dedicating their time to ensure a brighter, stronger amateur sport system in Manitoba, officials who guarantee decorum and fair play, and coaches who lead, develop, and mentor Manitobans who participate in sport.

Each year, the sport community gathers at the annual Night of Champions (formerly the Sport for Life Gala) to celebrate the achievements of our nominees for the Sport Manitoba Awards and name the winners in the following categories:

• The Manitoba Chicken Producers Junior Female Athlete of the Year
• The Manitoba Chicken Producers Junior Male Athlete of the Year
• The Calm Air Junior Team of the Year
• The Great-West Life Volunteer of the Year
• The Great-West Life Youth Volunteer of the Year
• The Sport Manitoba Official of the Year
• The Manitoba Lotteries Female Coach of the Year *
• The Manitoba Lotteries Male Coach of the Year *

*Please note that these nominees are selected from the nominees of the Coaching Manitoba Excellence Awards.

Nominations in each of the categories are now open. Please visit sportmanitoba.ca for nomination forms. Deadline for submission is February 24, 2014.

***NOTE***  Nominations for the Great-West Life Volunteer and Youth Volunteer of the Year are open to the general public.  If you know a dedicated sport volunteer, please nominate them and recognize them for their accomplishments!
