Skied today at 2:30 pm. I started off from stables parking lot to Esker/Lime Kiln trails. Trail was blocked off 200m into it, courtesy of Manitoba hydro line clearing service. Drove to Chickadee parking lot and skied Chickadee and SW Bluestem. Very hard, icy and fast. This maybe treacherous for some skiers. There is now a lot of fallen debris on…Read more

To the report below, I will add that the SE half of the Blue stem trail is open. Also ski with some caution at the top of the “Tower” hill, as there is some hidden rocks under the snow. I ended up with a 20 cm gouge on one of my skis that I will have to repair.

I was out yesterday(Jan.2/25) and all trails were freshly groomed. This might be a moot point with all the fresh snow fall today, but hopefully trails will still be intact and very ski able this weekend with all the ski traffic.

I skied Esker and Lime Kiln today. Excellent conditions, albeit a little slow due to the fresh snow. Trails now have very good snow with some minor exceptions. A couple of exposed areas near the top of the hill at lookout tower. Rock skis are no longer necessary.
Speaking of lookout tower, the tower has been removed. Maybe it has become a…Read more

Skied bluestem east of the lookout tower. Some skied trail, but had to break trail for a large portion of it.(ugh) Returned on esker towards Lime Kiln with much better trail that was well traveled. Lime Kiln was mostly good with harder packed trail from previous skiers. Lets hope for grooming once weather stabilizes.

Went out at 2:00 pm. I skied the blue stem and Esker trails. The Bluestem east of the lookout tower was mostly good. West of the tower, the Blue stem quickly deteriorated into a mess. There was vehicle tire ruts through most of that section. It was slow going. I had to do the tranquilizer shuffle through that section. The good news is that there…Read more

Skied this morning. Skied Esker and Lime Kiln. Both were very good and mostly fast. A thin layer of fresh snow covered the icy glaze on the tracks. That made for good grip and glide. No debris seen. A very enjoyable ski. Hopefully forecasted rain tonight won’t happen.

Today I skied most of the classic trails and everything is groomed and excellent condition. I stand corrected on my previous post. I must have got out skiing before grooming was complete. My apologies if this caused any confusion. Now if we can only get the local deer population to eat all the debris on the ski trails. 🙂

We skied Bluestem, Chickadee, esker and Lime Kiln this morning. Both Chickadee and Bluestem are freshly groomed and nice and fast. Although Esker and Lime Kiln are in good condition they sure could use a fresh grooming. The wind was not much of a factor. Overall, a great day.
