West Bluestem from tower to Chickadee was good, with only a couple times that a lane change was required. Chickadee to stables was poor, lots of avoiding dirt.<br />

I imagine that the mornings after night frost would be very icy. Amazing that one could still go on Good Friday!</p>

Instead I had a rather bad break with helpers standing by lend assistance. They helped me get to the car and I&#8217;ve since had successful surgery and been released. Good conditions. The ~5 cm of new snow is skied into the right track. In a few places it was very moist.<br />
The Group Use Road has too much loose snow on it to be skiable. It needs to be groomed, or you can wait for a few days of melt and freeze for it to settle.</p>

Mine was fantastic for skate skiing a few days ago and again on Sunday morning. At below freezing temps it was beautiful crust, ranging in depth from a few mm to many cm. When melting, it is transformed slush that a well prepared ski base glides over nicely. I can ski a loop up to 1.1 km. I arrived at the Stables lot around noon to take advantage of the heat of the day. Skied Esk, Chick  loop, Esk again to the forest path to the Kiln loop and back to the Stables lot.<br />

But, as we have all noticed, the foot traffic on the trails is increasing, and will only get worse as the weather improves and the skiing gets very enjoyable.<br />

I arrived at the Stables lot Mar 2 noon, and skied Asp and Chick. Tracks well defined with some blown in spots and  debris from the big wind late last week. The good news on the debris is that it in being skied in and only marginally affects glide.<br />

You have to accept human nature these days: everybody seems to focus on themselves.<br />

The classic tracks are very well formed. They are getting very slick/fast. Lots of double poling for me. Skin skis worked very well for Anita. Two of our family members used a very soft/sticky/warm grip wax (~0° on the can), which worked well.</p>

<p>Our groomer went out early this morning to start on the &#8220;flat&#8221; trails and determined that we would not be able to groom the ski trails without causing damage. </p>

Wasn’t sure what to expect with the weather so warm and crossing the bridge was à bit tricky,  but once on the other side skiing is surprizingly good.</p>
