Lots of snow &#8230; half a metre deep beside the trails.<br />
Many skiers, including 5 of us from Prairie Nordic Ski Club. I was on skating skis; the others were classic skiing.<br />

&#8220;Hey Kevin &#8211; just letting you know they are in the process of grooming Grand Beach right now, 1030 am &#8211; 15 to 20 cm of new fresh powder. Skate deck is nice and flat but very soft (so much new snow to groom) probably best to wait until tomorrow morning, should firm up overnight as it’s suppose to dip to -10.&#8221;</p>

I realize they have lots of snow, but they are located an hour from a significant population of cross country skiers. In contrast, the provincial park located 15 minutes from Winnipeg&#8217;s many thousands of skiers last groomed their ski trails on March 20. Good conditions. The ~5 cm of new snow is skied into the right track. In a few places it was very moist.<br />
The Group Use Road has too much loose snow on it to be skiable. It needs to be groomed, or you can wait for a few days of melt and freeze for it to settle.</p>

Mine was fantastic for skate skiing a few days ago and again on Sunday morning. At below freezing temps it was beautiful crust, ranging in depth from a few mm to many cm. When melting, it is transformed slush that a well prepared ski base glides over nicely. I can ski a loop up to 1.1 km. I started on classic skis at -3° and cloudy. Trails were &#8220;soft icy&#8221;, not &#8220;ice&#8221;, and very fast. 15 minutes after the sun came out and the temp rose a couple degrees, un-shaded tracks became softer and tracks slowed down somewhat.<br />

The Orange, Green, and Yellow trails were in excellent condition. Most of the Blue trail was blown-in, but after we skied it, there was a shallow track. Much of the Red trail was very good; the blown-in sections also now have a shallow track.</p>

The trails were beautifully groomed, classic and skate. Thanks to landowners Phil &amp; Vera Froese for the great trails, the warm Blue Cabin,  and welcoming us. </p>

The classic tracks are very well formed. They are getting very slick/fast. Lots of double poling for me. Skin skis worked very well for Anita. Two of our family members used a very soft/sticky/warm grip wax (~0° on the can), which worked well.</p>

7 members of <a href="https://www.naturemanitoba.ca/grey-hares/" rel="nofollow ugc">Nature Manitoba&#8217;s Grey Hares</a> skied Lime Kiln, Esker, Chickadee, and Aspen.<br />
The 1 cm of Monday-Tuesday overnight snowfall is well skied-into last Friday&#8217;s grooming, resulting in excellent classic tracks.<br />
The Group Use Road appears to be very good.<br />

The yellow barricades were still up. I haven&#8217;t heard or seen anything since then. </p>
