Lots of snow &#8230; half a metre deep beside the trails.<br />
Many skiers, including 5 of us from Prairie Nordic Ski Club. I was on skating skis; the others were classic skiing.<br />

I can’t believe how much snow there is in the forest right now. Trails were fantastic for so late in the season. West Bluestem from tower to Chickadee was good, with only a couple times that a lane change was required. Chickadee to stables was poor, lots of avoiding dirt.<br />

The Group Use Road has too much loose snow on it to be skiable. It needs to be groomed, or you can wait for a few days of melt and freeze for it to settle.</p>

However several small (1 m long) bare patches are beginning to show up on the approximately 8 km of classic trails currently groomed for spring skiing. I started on classic skis at -3° and cloudy. Trails were &#8220;soft icy&#8221;, not &#8220;ice&#8221;, and very fast. 15 minutes after the sun came out and the temp rose a couple degrees, un-shaded tracks became softer and tracks slowed down somewhat.<br />
