DESCRIPTION:Registration deadline: Wed Dec 3 at midnight \nThe course fee is subsidized by  Sport Manitoba – Coaching in an effort to increase the population of qualified cross-country ski coaches while keeping the cost of coaching development affordable for our members. \nCommunity Coaching workshops are oriented toward the “Active Start” and “FUNdamentals” stage of the Long Term Athlete Development model. These worskhops are mandatory for everyone coaching or assisting their club’s Bunnyrabbit\, Jackrabbit or Track Attack program. Community Coaches are in high demand by all “Jackrabbit” clubs! \nThere are 3 steps of training in the Community Coaching context: \nStep 1: Complete the Coach Initiation in Sport – eLearning multi-sport module in the The Locker \nStep 2: Complete the Introduction to Community Coaching – eLearning XC Skiing module in the The Locker \nStep 3: Community Coaching workshop* = Day 1 in-class + Day 2 on-snow \n*Coaches interested in training & /or certification in the Competition Coaching Introduction context can skip the CC workshop and move directly to CCI-L2T Dryland after Step 2 above. \nCheck with coaching context is right for you: Coach-Qualifications-flowchart-v3 \nFind out more about the Athlete & Coach Development Progression in our sport.

SUMMARY:Coaching Workshop - Learning to Train Dryland - Dec 2025
DESCRIPTION:Competition Coaching Introduction – Learning to Train (CCI-L2T) Dryland\n \nCoaches are taught about developmental age\, physical literacy\, team building\, athletic components (aerobic fitness\, speed\, etc.)\, nutrition\, how to design their own sport program\, adventure-based activities (year-round)\, roller-skiing and planning a practice. \nPrerequisite: Community Coaching Introduction (ICC) + Coach Initiation in Sport – Online modules in The Locker the thelocker.coach.ca \nThis workshop provides tools and develops skills that a coach can use to: (1) create a “fun”\, team-oriented environment that will motivate skiers to achieve their personal goals in sport\, develop a life-long interest in the fitness and health benefits of cross-country skiing\, and (2) effectively teach intermediate and then advanced technique. \nThe course fee is heavily subsidized by Sport Manitoba Coaching in an effort to increase the population of qualified cross-country ski coaches while keeping the cost of coaching development affordable for our members. \nN.B. Completion of this workshop is the minimum mandatory qualification for anyone supervising\, instructing or coaching ski activities for children 9 – 16 years of age. All CCSAM clubs must have at least one Competition Coach overseeing their Skill Development program in order to remain compliant with the club’s liability insurance policy. \nCoach Development Progression
